About Peña Pachamama

Peña Pachamama is in its 24th year as a magical, musical restaurant in the heart of San Francisco's touristic North Beach. ZAGAT writes: "Once the stomping ground for Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe this bi-level North Beach space is now the nexus of "Andean culture" run by the founder of SUKAY, a musical ensemble from that region: it is also San Francisco's most fun underground club" Hon. Mayor Willie Brown and Governor Gavin Newson have danced here bringing extraordinary people like actor Robin Williams, now Vice-President Kamala Harris, Gordon Getty, Stanlee Gatti among others. Steve Miller has jammed on stage, along with jazz, bluegrass, flamenco and tango greats. The menu consists of organic plant based food. Private events may choose their menu. Our staff consists of the artists, musicians and dancers who perform here. Peña Pachamama became a gathering place for great world music traditions; Flamenco, Cuban Son, Argentine Tango, Andean Pan-pipes, Brazilian Samba. Actor Robin Williams, who took to the stage here occasionally, said "This place is amazing . . .this is the kind of place that would make even the Amish dance" Peña Pachamama serves organic, plant-based, & gluten-free tapas, cooked desserts, and larger entrees. We use locally grown produce, extra virgin olive and raw-coconut oils only. The bar features wine, South American beer, specialty cocktails such as Margaritas, Andean Sunrise, and Mango Mimosas, Eddy's dangerous Bolivian cocktail- as well as a deceivingly fruity Sangria. The Pachamama restaurant features the original Speakeasy built in 1918 in a landmark location in San Francisco. Parties and meetings are available 7 days a week from 10 AM to midnight (hours after midnight on request). The main dining room includes a small stage and built in sound system, MACKIE mixer, mics and stage lighting. It houses one of San Francisco’s most charming bars where Robert Altman exhibits of some of his greatest original photos from the Sixties Summer of Love when he was chief photographer for Rolling Stone Magazine. On the main floor Peña Pachamama holds about 60+ for a sit-down dinner or 70 for a buffet (or up to 100 for a reception). The price depends on the day of the week and if you want a musical performance.
